Russia-working online cinema MEGOGO creates movie distributor
MOSCOW, Mar 23 (PRIME) -- MEGOGO, one of the biggest video services working on the post-Soviet space, has expanded into movie distribution, it said Wednesday in a statement.
“Content distribution for MEGOGO is a logical step in the company’s development. Our long experience, business communications and deep understanding of the movie market allow us to broaden our activities to the traditional cinema business,” Viktor Chekanov, general director of MEGOGO in Russia, said.
MEGOGO Distribution is owned by MEGOGO’s holders and Vladimir Artyomenko, founder of TOPFILM Distribution.
The new division will deal with distribution of movies and will replenish its library with new releases within the strategic partnership with TOPFILM.
“We plan to buy all types of rights, that is why, when sub-licensing video-on-demand content, MEGOGO Distribution will be guided exclusively by financial reasons,” Chekanov said.
